Loving Me

Every day there is a teaching moment about ourselves. In that moment we can discover great truths; are you ready for a truth I learned about myself?

I pray you are because it's deep.

I think about the possibility of my future king everyday, but in those thoughts, I have a challenge with whom I am; at least I did before this weekend. I woke up Friday morning saying LORD, I want to fall in love with me all over again.

It started with these great pictures I took of myself where I said YES, I'M HOT. Then, I went too far. I felt as if I was lusting after my own beauty. Through the night, the Lord chastise me and put me on track. I had to repent after whooping. I had to fast. I had to pray.

"Loving me was not a bad thing; lusting after me was."
There are things we do in our lives that will cause us to sin. In that sin, we could lose connection with our ALMIGHTY FATHER. I am thankful Jesus thought so much of me to come and say, GET RIGHT GIRL, repent now. If He hadn't come, I would be lost. Lost as I go into 2018 working from 2017 instructions.

It's okay to love you.
It's okay to say hey I LOOK GOOD.
It's not okay to lose sight of whom God is in our lives.
It's not okay to sin.

I fell in love with me again. I also fell in love with my spiritual assignment AGAIN.
Recognize whom God made you to be; it starts with self!

God bless you!

Author on a Mission

This interview is long over due. Tonya Franklin is a blessing in the Christian Authors  industry as she doesn't hold her tongue, doesn't stop pursuing God's purpose, and doesn't stop trying to encourage others. One of the best things you can do right now is read her story.

"I Speak. To Empower"

Tonya is the author of Good Customer Service Tips for Entrepreneurs
as well as Women on Purpose: Bible and Business,
and the new powerful fiction release, Devil in Disguise.

She has served as a contributing writer for numerous publications such as:
Million Moms in Action, SpeakWoman Magazine,
as well as an professional expert with BrandHer P.e.a.r.l.
And has been spotlighted in Ann Marie Bryant’s Reader’s CafĂ©,
Reading on the Edge Book Club,
and B.R.A.B. (Building Relationships Around Books).

How long have you been writing? Nearly 30 years. But I didn't take the plunge to become a published author until 2 years ago.

How many published works do you have? I have three.

What is the genre you focus on? I have various focuses. My first book was on customer service (business development), my second book was on women and business (spiritual and professional development), and my current release is Christian fiction.

What were you focusing on with this particular book? With my current release, I wanted to focus on the development of Christian relationships. Sometimes it is easy to see inward looking from the outside. I wanted to switch that view, and give readers a look from within.

Any new releases? I have two coming this summer. One is a devotional and the other is my first Christian mystery series release.

As a writer are you also a speaker? Yes, I have been speaking for 15 years. Last year I decided to add it to my author brand, to seek more exposure and opportunities in speaking. As a speaker, I cover spiritual and professional development topics.

What would you like to tell new writers/authors to motivate them?

Don't be afraid of the journey to discover your passion, and when you find it, walk in it. And don't listen to those who say "you can't". Every invention or idea was once upon a time impossible. If God gives it to you, do it. Write your journey; everyone's point of view is based on their own individuality and experience.

Thank you so much for stepping into the life of Tonya Franklin. B.A.D. will be interviewing her on BLOG TALK RADIO during the Christian Author Expo in October. Ms. Franklin's website and contact information are listed below!

Why are you SO Important?

It's a question that rises in the minds of those who see you speak, write, and never cry. It is in the minds of those whose feet are to small to walk in your shoes. It is the question they whisper behind your back for fear you may CUT THEM WITH YOUR WORDS, in their faces.

WHY ARE YOU SO IMPORTANT?
Because YOU ARE.

Your goal is to work towards the results God showed you in visions and dreams; to unlocok the door of the mansion the Lord gave you after being in public housing for so many years.Your goal everyday is to accomplish SOMETHING in order to NEVER QUIT. Yet, the only questions you're hearing in the hallways, from the closet conversations and mystrey texts is:

WHY ARE YOU SO IMPORTANT?

Tell them becase you are
Esther: stolen from your home in the middle of the night to become queen
Ruth: husband died, didn't return home, and you converted to Christianity.
Mary: carrying destiny

You are the woman no one understands and wants to understand. Let's just talk about her and watch her fail they say. Let's get together, without her, and just GOSSIP.

That is where you will find you are so important. You are in the middle of the conversations you're not even invited to, because they know you have an answer for why you are WHERE YOU ARE, AND WHY YOU DO WHAT YOU DO.

Why are you so important?

SIMPLE: GOD CHOSE YOU

Who are you as a Woman?

As women, we are always challenged in understanding where we are to understand whom we are; I ask you today to put yourself on the other side of this question and get the answer.

WHO ARE YOU AS A WOMAN?

In my B.A.D. Queens of the Round-Table group, I continuously ask the women what they bring to the table? The table of business? The family table? or even ministry..what do YOU bring to the table?

What do you think about yourself that allows you to be EVERY WOMAN in and around your life?

I watched Unsung Hollywood with a special on Meagan Good and I was intrigued by her ups and downs in life. I was especially intrigued by her recent marriage to Minister Devon Franklin. Not that he's a minister, but, from her story, she finally received her blessed relationship.

Nonetheless, the questions isn't to determine your lack of self worth or how much you value you; it is to take inventory of what you think.

Make a list of your trials and triumphs.
In that list what are you really proud of FIRST, then make a list of the things you can deal without.
Each list makes you whom you are however good or bad it is; don't take anything for granted.

When you look at what you don't like, ask yourself what was going on in your life causing the negative outcome. If things have changed make note of what you did that caused the positive change; if it has not changed ask yourself what do you need deliverance from.

Who you are is very important to your future as well as those around you! Make note. Get help (deliverance) and move forward!!

I'm Naked!

This morning I wokeup thinking about my new book Prophetic Patterns: Charles and Jasmine, and had to repent for the thoughts I had in my head. You see, I'm writing love scenes throughout the book between a married couple that the super saved folks seem to forget. It was so intense, I felt lustful at my thoughts; hence having to repent.

While getting ready, I thought about why I had those lustful thoughts and were they actually lustful? It dropped in my spirit that after all this time of being abstinent, I still didn't love my body. I did't love me.

In my shower I cried out to God to help me and after, I started to exercise. Naked. I started exercising naked. It isn't that I hate my weight, it was me recognizing if I can do jumping jacks with, wall push ups or squats, while naked, I could see every flaw and accept it. I looked in the mirror and laughed saying:

I'M NAKED!

About a year ago, I did a series on Beauty is Spirit Deep. The purpose was to allow women to realize their beauty starts from within. I understood what was so necessary in that message from my own issues, that sometimes I have to tackle today. You're probably saying how does that have to do with the thoughts I had when referring to my book? It means that after four years, a great divorce, success in building a business and ministry, I still have to remind my self about my beauty. My being smart, saved and sexy is a mindset not a body thing. It is an inner body experience. Accepting who you are naked is accepting who you are PERIOD!

Over the next few days, I will be releasing the SMART, SAVED, AND SEXY initiative that is being birthed through the B.AD. Queens of the Round-Table Networking Group.

Here are a few things I want you to run with while we get ready for this new initiative:

  • You are fearfully and wonderfully made. (Ps. 139:14)
  • You are blessed by GOD to accomplish all tasks despite your flaws.
  • The imperfections on your body should not be in your mind or spirit. ( 1 Sam. 16:7)
  • Look at yourself naked: point out the flaws without flinching and love on those flaws.

God bless you!

What is it worth?

I have looked at my life, spiritually, through the eyes of another and though WOW, is it worth it?

I can't say I know the answer. I can't say I don't know the answer.

You see, life is about challenges and changes. You cannot stay in the same way of life and expect to get to heaven. You cannot flip back and forth with whom you want to servie (God or the devil) and expect to live eternity in Heaven.

I ask myself if my spiritual journey and life long campaign to serve the Lord is worth losing some people in my life and I can heartily say YES! But, then I look at my journey as Wife and Mother and say, Lord, can I present this area of my life with the same question; I don't know.

I get tired of trying to satisfy everyone in my household and trying to butter over the problems in life knowing I can't succomb to the tempation. YET, the bible says do NOT cause a man to sin especially if he doesn't know. So, I ask you, what is worth? Trying times seem to come every morning and I don't think I want to give up my relationship with God to make it all work. So I ask you, what IS IT worth?

Is it worth the love? Is it worth the tears? Is it worth the headaches? Is it worth the developing patience? Is it worth the time?

Yes, saints, it is. It is worth everything. Why? Jesus died on the cross for us. God thought that we were worth enough to have His ONLY son die for us. He died for our sins. If Jesus can do that, how much less can it be for me to just sit tight and wait on the Lord to move in my household. It is worth alot.

Some people may call it hypocritical of me to help another when my house is not complete, but, when you are keeping your eyes on the Lord and claiming the victory in advance w/o complaining..I'm a blessed woman of God..and it is worth it all!

Featured Business OwnerKendra Burlison

Well you know any business is big business! Kendra Burlison, is ready to build her business one step at a time. A Wife and mother Kendra is working hard. In her own words, she shares who she is and why she is working her business! Please support all small business women...they are working hard for their families!

My name is Kendra and I’m a wife of almost 5 years and a mother to two wonderful children. One is 4 and the other is 8 months. My 4 year old is old enough for preschool, and I was lucky enough to find one close to home, and at a reasonable price. However, that was money we didn’t have to spend. I’m also a college student studying graphic design. It was been a big worry for me and my husband that when I finish, we wouldn’t be able to pay the payments on my school loans. However, I’m not a quitter and have been working towards my degree since my early 20’s. But still these were things that were a weight on our shoulders.

Then I attended my best friend’s launch party, and I learned about the Arbonne business opportunity. And what an opportunity it was! I saw that I had the ability to work for myself, put my daughter through preschool, pay for college, and contribute to my family financially. I never wanted to go back to work at a regular job because I worried that I would be paying someone to raise my children for me and missing out on the most important parts of their lives. With Arbonne, I can be home with my children and yet, pay for preschool and college. I plan on making Arbonne my career, and putting my graphic design degree to good work with my very own business. For me, Arbonne was a smart decision and an opportunity too good to pass up!

What is Arbonne you ask?

Arbonne is this wonderful health and wellness company with products that are pure, safe, and beneficial! Everything is botanically based and REALLY works. From the RE9 skin care line that can literally turn back the clock on your skin, to the baby care line with the best diaper rash cream I have EVER used, to their Figure 8 healthy living and weight loss line, there are over 400 products to choose from. And doing the business has literally changed my life. It was so easy to get started, and even though it has been hard work, I can’t believe how easy it is to understand and duplicate what others have done to be successful.

Featured Business Woman: The all natural EDDIE

I took a minute to decide whom I would feature next. God has place so many people in my life that TODAY, I featured two women and now I am on my third.

This woman, I had to take time to write about. This woman is a walking testimony for single mothers, divorced women, and business women beating the economical odds. This woman has found her way embarking on the spiritual that has KEPT her for so long. I Praise God for what HE DID in her life and what HE is DOING.

This woman, Fabulous, Black and all NATUARL is Eddie! When you are FAB last names aren't needed! When you are NATURAL you need no introduction, you just walk the red carpet.

Eddie's testimony starts off like most others, but she jumps right into how successful she is right now and how successful she will continue to be. She never lets you see her sweat when on the FBW network (click to find out what YOU are missing) or when she sends you an email just to say HI!

She is an awesome mother of great children; raising a teenage son with the help of the LORD (yes single moms, you are not alone, God is with you!!!) She is the leader of the pack when even I need motivation. This lady kept my eye on the prize when I could not see straight.

I guess I should say how I KNOW her so well to share her with you w/o getting a bio?

Well, with my spiritual self, I was looking for a way to grow out my relaxer in my hair and naturally keep it washed conditioned and healthy. Eddie popped up(literally) on one of my other ning networks with a new book to go along with her products for a great rate. From that point on, I was introduce to Sweet Nature by Eddie. I was sold after the first 7 days of using her HANDMADE, NATURAL PRODUCTS. I had a relaxer (in between braids and such) since I was 6 years old. Switching to Sweet Nature was a great deal for me and my hair.

After about 5 months of using the products, I decided to sell them on my site. I am one that builds up others everyday! Why not be a spoke person for products that are great for not only your hair, but your body as well. It is time for a change and we have to look out for one another....one woman to another in business.

Eddie is also working on a non-profit organization to help teen girls in her area. She is doing her thang and not forgetting where she came from! I suggest you get on over to her site TODAY and pick up your new hair/skin products, vitamins, oh I'm not telling any more! Get there and be a support of this all natural, fabulously black Woman: EDDIE!

Featured Woman: Charli Pickett

God picked a wonderful woman to share HIS word, motivate others, and build a ministry.

Mrs. Charli Pickett is achieving in life what I want in my non-profit 4, My Kids, Inc, being a speaker! When you are a child of God, speaking while emphasizing HIS commands is beneficial the listener's life.

Mrs. Pickett has achieved so much in her life, I wanted to share her with my readers. Yet it doesn't stop there with speaking, she is an author and international speaker as well.

'Her mission is to love, encourage, edify, buildup, and set free the women of today.

Women's ministry has always been close to Charli’s heart. Mentoring women for many years resulted in her Christian Women’s Conference ministry. Her desire is to see women move into their rightful positions in the kingdom of God, women of power, grace, and the true “Beauty of Holiness.”

Besides her Women’s Conferences in the United States, she has ministered in China, Colombia, El Salvador, Honduras, and Mexico. Charli and her husband Bob are ordained ministers and founders of Shiloh Ministries, Inc. They have been in ministry for over 18 years. They have been married 36 years. Shiloh Ministries also transports Bibles into underground churches in China, mentors young people, Christian couples, and Christian athletes. Charli and Bob co-hosted “Shiloh Ministries,” their Christian television program for 5 years. Charli also co-hosted a Women's Christian Television Program on CTN, the Christian Television Network in Nashville. TN.
' (taken from her shared biography)

What an awesome woman God has chose to use. Mrs. Pickett is one to look toward as women that are involved in the world's current economic down turn find their plan B. Please visit her website if you would like to have her as a speaker at your next event. Remember Charli Pickett is a woman that is spirit led and spirit fed; she does not compromise her spirituality!

Thinking Thursday~~God Made Me, ME

When I was born
God made me, ME

Not a reflection of my leaders
Fore Fathers
Cousins
Parents
Not like you

God made me, Me

Gave me a mind
To use
To Choose, HIM
To walk upright
Head High
Not with pride
With a smile
and JOY inside

God made me, Me

Not to be like you
Or act like them
But to be the way
He wanted ME

My own person
My own life
My own way
According to HIS plan

God made me, Me

So don't get in my face
With what you think
You may know about ME

Don't get in my face
With that made up love
saying you LOVE ME
and know what's best

Don't get in my face
When you get uptight
Knowing I love the LORD
and I will NOT fight
argure
fuss
cuss

Don't get mad at me
Because
I'm not you
Don't get mad at me
Because
I'm going in the right direction

God made me, Me

I'm not you

God made me and HE surly made you
