Ways to be B.A.D. #4: Listen to God

When you are fasting, praying, and studying/reading your BIBLE, you will hear from God.

The word of God never changes. The understanding or meaning may be received differently for different circumstances, but you will never MISS GOD if you are reading His word. I understand that at times, you feel like that isn't enough, but actually it is. When you hear DIRECTLY FROM GOD, you  know it is HIM. Everything sounds strange; random messages you can't put your finger on, but you have  no choice but to put your finger on it. PRESS...PRESS THE BUTTON AND MOVE.

Listen to God. He is for you, and would never lead you ASTRAY.

Motherly Wisdome #14: Don't Use the Children

Don't use the children against the other parent. The children understand everything at every age; they will really be upset with you later!

As a young mom, I would see other mothers use their children to get what they wanted from the dads. That was manipulation of the utmost, and spiritually, it's witchcraft. A great form of control, because women thought they had the upper hand.

The problem with this is, the dad's got tired of being used. They either took custody or stopped coming around. Then, the kids would be upset with the Moms because they couldn't see their dads.

I was never one to use my children to get at their dad. I don't have time, for what we called, kid games. That's a game you play, that you can't stop playing or you would always have pie on your face.

I like to eat pie, not play with pie.

Children see everything, hear everything, and then they learn how to play the game. Don't let them play it on you when they get older, so stop now!

Don't use YOUR CHILDREN AGAINST THE OTHER PARENT.

Motherly wisdom #7: Mama Doesn't Know Everything

Mama doesn't know everything; she just knows how to handle it. Prayer + Praise= positive probabilities.

Every mother has her ups and downs, but in those ups and downs she finds a way to make it work. In the 11 1/2 months that I have been out of the 9-5, I have had to come up with some sure fire ways to make ends  meet. Even as a small business owner, you find that people don't have a strategic plan on PAYING YOU ON TIME.

Every day is a learning experience. So, Moms don't try to burden you with what they know only their experiences that they have had. You don't have to apply it to your life, but at least put it in the back of your head.

We know how to pray for guidance and praise until it comes! As a parent, I take every opportunity to pray.

Some of the things Mom's know how to handle:

  • paying bills (late or otherwise)
  • daycare
  • school information
  • doctors
  • organization
  • substitution (of anything)

Learn from it!

Motherly Wisdom #6: Because its the Right thing TO DO!

If you offer to help your parents because you know its the right thing to do, Mama can rest assured you were raised right.

Sometimes, as parents, we get discouraged as our children get older. I have experienced where my children forgot where they came from, BUT GOD. Yes, GOD!  He keeps them from being murdered.

Anyway, children, you should be helping your parents because its the right thing to do. They DID RAISE YOU PROPERLY.

If you even offer to help, don't rub it in their faces. They can take you life back. Believe me..I know, and will settle for the consequences!

Motherly Widom #3: Grand-kids see all

Grand-kids are the epitome of time right now;nothing like their parents at that age.

What I mean is, when you look at your grandchildren, they aren't acting like their parents did, they are acting like how their parents are teaching them now.

I look at my grandchildren and I see how they are learning EVERY LITTLE THING IN LIFE right now. Whether its how they eat, or how they argue, how they clean, or how they sleep, I see what my daughter does at home through them.

It is a blessing to see them catch on to some things so minute, but then again, you want them to just have a life fit for them in their little bodies.

Keep a close watch on your grand-children; any hurt harm or danger, you will see in their actions and reactions.

The Past

Today I'm talking about life as we knew it. I needed to come HERE to write this because I want it to reach the masses. There is purpose in all of our lives that is important we attain. Now, what you take from this is totally up to you, but you have to see, hear, meditate, and understand.

THE PAST

What does this mean to you? What does it meant to the people around you? Are you running from it? Have you decided that it is not yours to remember? Have you repented of all your wrongs and asked God to forgive you? Who were you and does that matter now?

I was taken to Proverbs this morning and the scripture bothered me. It bothered me in a way that was not pleasing to my understanding. You see, the words weren't clear so I studied each verse aquainted with it and then studied those verses. I looked in various bible versions to get a clear understanding and then put in my journal a question that you will see later.

The verse is Proverbs 9:18 But he does not know that the dead are there,
That her guests are in the depths of hell.

Doesnt' say much does it? So look at Proverbs 2:18, 7:27 and 5:5

After you do that look at what the message bible says about 9:18:

Madame Whore Calls Out, Too

13-18 Then there's this other woman, Madame Whore—
brazen, empty-headed, frivolous. She sits on the front porch
of her house on Main Street,And as people walk by minding
their own business, calls out,"Are you confused about life, don't know what's going on?
Steal off with me, I'll show you a good time! No one will ever know—I'll give you the time of your life." But they don't know about all the skeletons in her closet, that all her guests end up in hell.

Now this is deep!

Now, I'm wondering how many of us can understand where we are in this. This would mean, and it goes against some of my most recent messages, but this would mean that you have to look at your past and really see if there are any skeletons in your closet. You have to know if you are acting immorally in anything that you do or have done and your HAVE TO lay prostrate to get healing, to get over and to get it right!

Noah Webster's Dictionary(bible dictionary) says immoral is

(a.) Contrary to conscience or the divine law; wicked; unjust; dishonest; vicious; licentious; as, an immoral man; an immoral deed.

As I read this, I decided to look at what is divine law and found this definition that will help us ALL get to the point we need to be and thus getting over the past.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divine_law
Divine law is any law (or rule) that in the opinion of believers, comes directly from the will of God (or a god). Like natural law (which may be seen as a manifestation of divine law) it is independent of the will of man, who cannot change it. However it may be revealed or not, so it may change in human perception in time through new revelation.

In Thomas Aquinas's Treatise on Law, Divine Law, as opposed to Natural Law, comes only from revelation or scripture, hence Biblical law, and is necessary for human salvation. In Aquinas, divine law must not be confused with eternal law.

This definition can go in many directions, but still, you have to know what you are doing wrong in order to get right. If you are going against the Divine Law..God's law then you are not in right standing.

So, if you have  not opened the closet of your past to let the skeletons out and be buried in the cemetary of repentance and God's forgiveness, you need to do that NOW! The past IS the past, but in order to get over it you have to put it in your face and do what's right. Get rid of the guests of your past; get rid of what is dead and bury it in the proper place. Do not teach about getting over the past if you haven't yet. It is a wonder that I have seen this scripture today as I was having issues with my past previously. I couldn't understand, this day, if God was telling me that I was an immoral woman in the biblical dictionary sense. So I can be transparent and humble to say, YES, I have been immoral but I will not go on in that manner. I am looking in the closet of my past, and giving the dead a respectful burial place.

I can't help you until I help me first...so today is the day!

Family Friday~~Summer is coming

The time is coming for the school year to end. What are you going to do with the kids? You can not let children sit around idlely. There minds will turn to oatmeal and they will get rebellious!

Our children usually attend the neighborhood Boys and Girl's club each summer. This is a good idea if you don't have any other answers. I was a latch key kid and staying at home got boring. Going outside looking at the same neighborhood gave me a migraine. I rode my bike to the library's neighborhoood book mobile every other week and worked during my high school years.

I believe kids need something to not only keep them entertained but also educated; looking at each other is not it!

I have also discovered, if you involve children, more, in the running of the house, not just the upkeep, they develop an interest to learn. For instance, teach the older children how to cook small dishes. This helps them to get breakfast or dinner prepared if you are ever running late. Ask them to help with the gardening, cutting the grass, laundry, or painting; get their input, not just their struggle.

Take the children to the library; at any age it is well worth it. Ask them to pick out a book or magazine that is of interest to them (within limits; no rap, no fulgarity, no sex).

Bike riding is great and not just for exercise! Ride through the park you have never been to or a neighborhood that is of interest. Allowing your children to visit diverse neighborhoods allows them to get to know others of the WORLD not just their race.

Bowling allows children to use their minds and their bodies to complete a goal. Giving them the opportunity to do two things at once and effectively doing that :)
Bowling is great exercise! Take the kids bowling once a week. Find a kid league that would be great. Something to put them first this summer.

These are just a few suggestions. You can check out my other blog http://4mykidsinc.blogspot.com for more suggestions for summertime fun and education.

Family Friday~~Pulling it all together

When you create a life that seems it is bigger than the plan YOU had, you have to pull it all together for balance and completion in the HOME!

Well, this hits home for me because everything I dream about to be prosperous and successful, is about to fall into the gutter because my home life isn't 100%. I blame my parents for this; if they weren't go-getters, creative minded, dreamers, and people that just wanted more out of life, I would be working my 9-5 and being Suzy Homemaker. So what do I do? Find balance. (I want you to visit ivillage.com and sign up with ilearn which has free online classes for just this topic).

The importance of balance gives us all the connection we need in our lives and frees us from stress. The primary importance to keep life stable and obtain this balance is the connection we have with the Lord. We are all God's children; when we choose to follow HIM, we are walking the path that opens our ears to hearing, seeing and doing.

So how do we start to get there:

1. Obey all the commands (not just the commandments)
2. Study the word
3. Fellowship with other like minded, spiritual individuals
4. Always be in prayer
5. Take classes or lessons regarding balance
6. Don't give up
7. Always trust the Lord.

These few steps may sound easy, but once you get started it's hard. I want to also, suggest that you visit Greg Dickow's web site and sign up for the Thinking Fast.
http://www.changinglives.org or www.thinkingfast.org

You have to scripturally start somewhere in order to get things in order and in balance.

Blessings.

Family Friday~~Reading the WORD

Welcome to family friday again!

We are here to help celebrate our families and help them grow! By growth we need spiritual as well as mental!

Take your time and study the word with your kids. I don't do it all the time; I sometimes let my son read the word to me. As a 10 year old he comes up with some very profound things that are beneficial to everybody.

Either way, here are some scriptures I think would be great to start a conversation in your house:

Proverbs 1:8
Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching.
Proverbs 19:13
A foolish son is his father's ruin, and a quarrelsome wife is like a constant dripping.
Ephesians 6:4
Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord
Proverbs 22:6 (Whole Chapter)
Train [ Or Start ] a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.

Learning and reading the word of God is never simple. It's an experience all in itself that is different for every family. Children are the people that will help us later on in life and give us the word in a new spiritual light. We love them and help them along.....it's never too late to READ the word.
