Featured Business Woman: Tina Hines: A True Sister Friend

E.S.S.E.N.C.E. of A Woman is getting back to its roots by featuring awesome business women! Today we are featuring Tina Hines. She is a great woman with strength and a heart for others. Get to know and at the end, when you see her web page and bio, go to her site and show some LOVE!!

What is the name of your business? Tina C. Hines, Life Transformation Specialist and For My Sister Friends

How long have you been in business? Unofficially, I started fellowshipping with women in my home in 2008. Then I officially began both in late 2011.

What were your struggles in starting? There were a few struggles but one of the more simple ones was identifying a logo. The logo had to symbolize a transformation and I had seen several organizations use a butterfly. However, I wanted something different that captured the essence of a woman. A friend told me to research the dragonfly and when I saw the definition(The dragonfly, in almost every part of the world symbolizes change and change in the perspective of self-realization; and the kind of change that has its source in mental and emotional maturity and the understanding of the deeper meaning of life) I knew the dragonfly had to be incorporated into my logo. Hence the silhouette of the body of the dragonfly is a woman with wings.

What have been your triumphs? By taking a leap of faith to start a business, there were no doubt that I would experience one or two triumphs. However, I did not know when they would occur. To my amazement, the business has been well received by many women who were able to identify with my mission. One of my first triumphs was being invited to speak during a Women’s Empowerment Brunch. To look at the faces of the women in the audience with tears in their eyes (as I shared my message of Remembering Me) brought joy to my heart. It was at that moment that I was absolutely positive that assisting women was the purpose that was handed to me. I’ve been blessed with a gift and it was given to me so I could share it with others who are receptive.

What was your small business why? Running a business was never in the forefront of my mind until one of my previous managers suggested open a temp agency to groom administrative professionals. For some reason I always felt my calling was for something deeper (but I did not know what the deeper was back in 1990). As I fast forward to 2011, my boss was right when he used the word ‘groom’. In essence I am grooming women but it is not just in their careers. This grooming is in their health, their relationships and other areas that they find challenging. Although I have to make a living, when I started this journey I knew it was not about the amount money I would make. It was about the number of women I would be able to assist. But as I have always said, whether it is 5 or 5,000 women, I am on a mission and I will continue because this is my purpose.

Residual or Recession Part III: It Can't ALL be FREE

I want to just be real with you about the Bamboo Pink opportunity. WHY? People are getting the misconception about is FREE and what should stay free. It is free to sign up and build your team through April 1, 2011. There is a trial period after this time for possible consultants to get an idea of what the business is about. You don't have to purchase a kit if you don't have to, but the income incentives when you do buy a kit is a better investment.

If everything were free just totally free how would you make money? I have one direct sales business that is totally free to join, but when you look at the kit option, its better to purchase the kit than to stay free..most ppl won't put an effort into anything thats totally free to join..build the team on the incentive that you can look/try for short time for free, but with the income and relationship incentive gives you a millionaire mindset to invest.

If your mindset is to stay in the financial circumstances you are in thats fine; no multiple income stream option is for you. Now, if you want to live like a Real Housewife of Beverly Hills or the OC in your current city...join me today. http://bamboopink.net/ca2

Investing in Women~When YOU Need a Grant!

New Business Grant Uses The Power Of Collaboration To Change Lives

Business Grants are elusive to most entrepreneurs and especially hard to find in a recession. Investing In Women (www.iiwomen.com) wants to change that and is asking for everyone to get involved in awarding grants. After awarding their first grant a few weeks ago, the company is ready to award another one.

The current grant applicant is Gazelle Simmons, a virtual assistant and author. She started her business Admin Services in 1998 and is currently in need of a new computer. “The desktop computer I’m currently using was purchased in February 2005...It is an essential part of my business and I couldn’t work without it.” Gazelle wrote in her grant application. As a virtual assistant she works with business owners who need administrative support but not a full time employee. Her services include, but are not limited to presentations, data entry, mass-mailings and editing/proofreading.

Gazelle lives in Atlanta, GA with her two teenage daughters. She is active in her community and spends her free time volunteering. After 10 years as an executive administrator she became her own boss so she would have the time to care for her aging parents. “I could be available for my parents, children even friends and family while still doing work I loved. For the first time in years, I looked forward to working.” says Gazelle

With the new grant program, everyone gets a chance to be involved. Investing In Women will begin the grant with $25 and the remainder will be donated through the site by visitors and from paid advertisements. All grant donors will receive recognition on the site with their name or website link.

“This gives us more transparency in our grant process and allows others to do something positive for a small business owner.” says Leah Oviedo, founder of Investing In Women. “Our goal is to offer 100 micro-grants in the next 2 years. After this grant is awarded we will be awarding another and so on.”

Investing In Women was founded in February of 2009 with the goal of encouraging women to be financially independent. They offer free business resources and tools that can be used by all entrepreneurs, not just women. Set up like a co-op, members of the site contribute their knowledge and resources on different business subjects. In exchange they receive free advertising.

Family Friday~~Pulling it all together

When you create a life that seems it is bigger than the plan YOU had, you have to pull it all together for balance and completion in the HOME!

Well, this hits home for me because everything I dream about to be prosperous and successful, is about to fall into the gutter because my home life isn't 100%. I blame my parents for this; if they weren't go-getters, creative minded, dreamers, and people that just wanted more out of life, I would be working my 9-5 and being Suzy Homemaker. So what do I do? Find balance. (I want you to visit ivillage.com and sign up with ilearn which has free online classes for just this topic).

The importance of balance gives us all the connection we need in our lives and frees us from stress. The primary importance to keep life stable and obtain this balance is the connection we have with the Lord. We are all God's children; when we choose to follow HIM, we are walking the path that opens our ears to hearing, seeing and doing.

So how do we start to get there:

1. Obey all the commands (not just the commandments)
2. Study the word
3. Fellowship with other like minded, spiritual individuals
4. Always be in prayer
5. Take classes or lessons regarding balance
6. Don't give up
7. Always trust the Lord.

These few steps may sound easy, but once you get started it's hard. I want to also, suggest that you visit Greg Dickow's web site and sign up for the Thinking Fast.
http://www.changinglives.org or www.thinkingfast.org

You have to scripturally start somewhere in order to get things in order and in balance.

Blessings.
