Blog Book Tour with Dominique Watson

Dominique Watson, Author and Business Woman Extraordinaire!

1. How did the book come about?-Well I started writing this book years ago. I knew I wanted to write a story about four females so I just ran with it as I got ideas for the storyline.

2. Explain your characters?-There are four females in this story. The main character is Ari Jennings. She's the link between the four females. She met them all at different point in her life. Ari is currently in college. She's battling putting herself through school and working. Her mother is an alcoholic. Ari is taken down a journey that tests her faith. Marissa is a married women working as an intern at dental office. She has a lot of skeletons in her closet that are eventually revealed. She will ultimately learn how to love and trust in God. Katora is a single mother but living with her sons father. All she wants is happiness and a good life for her son. She has doubts about her boyfriend but can't put her finger on what he's doing. Her Grandma J, the source of her spirituality, helps her see things in the right light. In the end, Katora will be tested and a big bomb will drop on her to reveal the truth about those around her. Heaven, the youngest and most young minded of the females is a spoiled rich girl. She is currently in college but still living with her parents. Heaven cares about no one but herself. Her mother has instilled morals in her that will constantly haunt her. Heaven gets involved with the wrong person which makes her grow up and make a touch decision.

3. What message do you want this book to send?-I want anyone who reads this book to be inspired. I'm sure this book will hit home for a lot of people. I want people my age to see that living and striving to be all God wants you to be even when your young has it's benefits. Trust in God no matter. He takes us all through things for a reason.

4. What are you currently working on?-I am currently writing a novel called Concealed Betrayal. I am working on my magazine From A Writer's POV and expanding it all over the internet.

5. What's in the future for Dominique-More books! The sequeal to "Too Much Untold" is next! Get ready! Expect to see more events for From A Writer's POV.

Dominique Watson said...

Thanks so much! I'm glad everyoen enjoyed themselves. They seemed to have a lot of fun!

i-Virtual Assist Book Tours said...

Dominique how long have you been writing? And what made you want to become a writer?

Dominique Watson said...

I've been writing since I was a young girl. I actually started writing professionally when me and my family where in Japan for three years. God took me out of my comfort zone so that I could find myself.

i-Virtual Assist Book Tours said...

Wow, how exciting. Japan is my son's favorite place in the world, lol. You have accomplished so much at such a young age. You are truly inspiration to other young people.

Dana Williamson said...

Wow..thats wonderful. Japan, huh?

Dominique Watson said...

Thanks! Yes it was truly a blessing to be there and experience the culture!

i-Virtual Assist Book Tours said...

What inspired you to choose the characters in the book?

Dominique Watson said...

You know I was just looking for people that were going through things that I'd never been through yet i knew other people could relate to. The personality that I am closest to is Ari. She has such a loving, kind heart as you will see. But I wanted 4 main characters that were going through something but had room to change. The hardest to change would be Heaven. She has alot going on!

Dana Williamson said...

Thats good to know...

i-Virtual Assist Book Tours said...

Do you see yourself directing a play in the future after this book?

Dominique Watson said...

That would be nice. I don't see it but if the opportunity came my way I wouldn't pass it up.

Dana Williamson said...

The Next Tyler Perry!

i-Virtual Assist Book Tours said...

Let me get ready to audition, lol!

Dana Williamson said...

I can sing...a little

i-Virtual Assist Book Tours said...

brb, please keep going.

Dana Williamson said...

Okay Dominique, author to author, how much time do you think one should take to effectively write a book people will read over and over?

Dominique Watson said...

You know there really isn't a time frame for writing a book. it's all on you and what you feel. For me it takes me no more than 6 months. That's only because I stray away from it. If you've read my Writing Season Articles, you understand that we come in and out of the writing season. So you may be in the writing season for 3 months then not want to write again for another 6 months. It happens like that. So don't put a time frame on it. Especially not the writing part!

Dominique Watson said...

My best friend is "waiting" on me to become the next tyler perry lol. I'd love for him to mentor me! He's truly an inspiration!

i-Virtual Assist Book Tours said...

I'm back, good question Dana!

Dana Williamson said...

Yes, Tyler sure is.

Dana Williamson said...

I agree with you on the timing. I was in school this past fall for nursing; on Sat. during biology class I could write 5 poems during the day..meaningful poetry..and now..can't say roses are red.

i-Virtual Assist Book Tours said...

My writing season is much shorter than that, lol.

What inspired the title? What other advice would you give to someone who is just beginning to write like myself?

Dominique Watson said...

Yeah and I feel no writing is good writing if you have to force it. if you are not feeling your words your words mean nothing. It's important to write when you feel it because you will end up writing something that is horrible or makes no sense to you. So I don't even attempt to write when I'm not in the mood.

i-Virtual Assist Book Tours said...

Dana is being too humble.

Dominique Watson said...

There was no inspiration behind the title. I kind of did a vote on my website and that's what was picked after some of them had read the snippet.

I would tell anyone just starting out to focus on your goals. Carry a notebook and always be in a place of isnpiration. Surround yourself with things that bring out the best in your writing. Remember that you can be a writer from anywhere-your desk, kitchen table, car, office-as long as it fits you and make sure you are feeling what you say! It will show when it comes out on paper.

i-Virtual Assist Book Tours said...

I want to welcome our other guests that have joined us. Please feel free to comment.

Dana Williamson said...

hmmm, I have 3 projects I need to finish...LOL

and you're right, you cannot force it or even YOU won't like it.

Dana Williamson said...

Welcome new guests!!

Dominique Watson said...

Exactly! I need to be writing right now but I'm not feeling it so I haven't brought up my books to begin editing or anything. Its just not in me.

Dana Williamson said...

The key words you said were you can't force it...so that's fair

Dana Williamson said...

Your book sends the message of inspiration..can you elaborate on that?

i-Virtual Assist Book Tours said...

Dominique, I am really enjoying the magazine, please tell us more about it.

Dominique Watson said...

Well it's Christian Fiction. It has storylines in it that cover some of the things we go through in life today. Betrayal, the christian life, secrets, love, family, lies etc. This is something we all go through on a day to day bases whether we are christian or not. So I wanted to give inspiration through these reality stories showing my readers that even God has a way for us. Even if we've been through the unspeakable, God can pull us out!

Dominique Watson said...

My magazine is called From A Writer's POV. It's a magazine for writers and authors who are looking for literary services and support.
