Rejection: Church Hurt

When you are hurt, some things you can get over. Some things you can just brush off your shoulders and everything is fine. Yet, church hurt, is not so easy to get over and most times is darn right embarrassing. I have been a victim of church hurt only recently in my life. In the last four or five years, I have experience some of the worst and some of the most confusing.

I will just start with the most confusing. I was a member at a large church for almost 13 years. During that time, my children attended their Christian academy and I was an active parent on the PTA. My last two or three years there, I helped the school by staying on as president of the PTA even though my tenure was complete. No one wanted to take the time to take the job. I encouraged many parents to take over for me; I was completely exhausted from trying to do it all (i.e. work, business, church, family, etc). It was the year my son started eighth grade that problems arose and the truth behind this mini-mega church emerged.

My son was caught smoking in the school; a very big no-no! He and a friend were suspended from school; the Christmas break started two days later. I had to sign a suspension form which noted that we would be talking with the Bishop (who was also over the Christian Academy) when school went back in session after Christmas. We went with the intent on meeting only to be told that the Bishop had made a decision over break to send the boys to the alternative school that was on campus. Never meeting with the parents; never calling over the break; never said a DARN WORD; just transferred them over as if it was all okay. They explained that my son’s transcripts would show that he was still at the academy and he would graduate from the academy. We didn’t have a choice at this point because time was not on our side; had they said something over the break we would be fine.

To get to the point of hurt, I called the Bishop to speak to him about choice that was made without us; remember my family is a member of the church at this time. I left messages with His secretary. During this time, the reality of the “alternative school” started to emerge. My son never brought homework home and didn’t have any books. I called the school; I talked with the administrator of the school who was a relative to the Bishop, I couldn’t understand what was going on. I even had someone tell me that my son was lying, when I’m looking at the rest of the children with the same issues. I showed my face many times and to my surprise (not really) the staff were all church members. I had almost had enough! I made more phone calls and sent emails to the Bishop just asking to meet with him. I even went as far as to say I’m not only a concerned parent but the president of YOUR PTA. I’m still waiting for a response and my son is a junior in high school.

The confusing part about this is these people see me more than three times a week. They knew the work I did in the church and for the school; I was active at the Boys and Girls club that was in their facility. I was never one of those parents to justify everything my children did; NEVER. Yet, I have a concern and no one wanted to address it. Why? Why never? I could understand an email going to spam or junk folder, but never return a phone call? The embarrassing part is my husband, who was not a saved man at this time, ridiculed me for not realizing these saints were nothing more than people; that I meant nothing to them as an active parent or president of their PTA.

There was another time, at this same church, where I was called a deceiver regarding a women’s retreat. It was said in a nice way, but I had to step back and say did this really happen? Did she really say this about me? Really saying that I was lying about the experience a lay person would have on this getaway. I was floored because what they were saying was a LIE!

My heart has been hurt about it ever since; but I’m healed. . I have recently left that church; not regarding the hurt that was given, but because I needed more that I wasn’t receiving at my current church home. A very large congregation and someone that tries to work hard like I do can get spiritually lost. The only way to get over the hurt is to ask God to help. I am no longer offended; I have forgiven them and asked God to help their hearts so that others don’t have to go through this. My spiritual walk has helped me to see past the person, and look towards their future in God.

I started out with a passion for learning, people and GOD as a little girl.

I knew there was a plan for me but I didn’t know what. I decided to be a

teacher in the church and in my local community. When that Pandora box was

opened a gift emerged that I had no idea was there. It started in a

classroom but then the borders were extended to people in the congregation,

to people in my community, to senior citizens in nursing homes, to people in

prison walls and even to the homeless and less fortunate that GOD sent my

way. I just loved helping others to learn, grow and to achieve higher than

they thought possible.

Two years ago I retired from my day job as a Retail Store Manager after 20

years. Recently I decided to awaken a gift that had long been buried inside

me and that's the gift of writing. I am currently working on several

children books and movie scripts. Because I feel knowledge is wasted unless

it is shared I also spend time sharing what GOD has blest me to know to be

successful. You can find me spreading this knowledge on several Social Media

I am a person who believe in miracles and just got my blessing on 12-21-

2010. After 22 years of suffering with PCOS and trying to conceive I gave

birth to my son Leonard Paul Ross III who was born by way of ceserean

section two months early. During the 31 days I spent in the hospital in the

NICU with him I received an epiphany. I do not want to leave this earth the

way I found it and I want to make it a better place for my son. If I can do

that then I will feel successful. Even though I have helped a lot of people

in my lifetime I know GOD still has a work for me and there are so many more

that need to be helped and reached. So I am going to simply "Do my Part".

Getting on POINT!

Sometimes we so fast through life that our head spins. We move according to what happened and what needs to happen later. NEVER, do we move in the right now. We are always preparing for more (or less) and thinking about the past.

It's time to get to the point.

The point of your life is to live right now and to accept today at its fullest. As a business and life coach, I tell my clients that tomorrow is not here for you, today is; yesterday is no longer your problem, ask for forgiveness and move on. Getting to the point is truly part of what is important in leaving legacies. What does that mean you ask? It means you have to consider you children and possibly your grand children and what values and concepts are you instilling them right now.

Getting to the point of your life, your business and your family starts with re-evaluating what you are doing; what works and what doesnt! You really must write things down and pick them apart piece by piece. Yes, write on paper, not on the IPAD. Yes, write and feel the frustrations you have as you do so. On your paper, at the very top, write GETTING TO THE POINT. Under that write what YOUR POINT is, not what everyone thinks it should be. Under that make a list of what you have been doing in the past year to get to the point. After you have it all written down, take a yellow and a pink highlighter; in yellow highlight the things that have worked in pink mark off the things that dont.

This project needs to be done! We are in the 2nd half of the year and you have to move forward and obtain the wealth that God has promised you. Get to the point of your life right now!

The problem with your life is that someone else wants it. It's never a great experience for people to congratulate you adn then make you feel bad all in one breath. The problem in my life is that I can't offer everybody what they need so they don't even trust me with the little bit I have. Wow..that's like getting stomped on w/o really knowing it until you try to get up from the unclear stuper you were in.

Here's the problem:

Everyone's reality is the logic that the world brings not the spirit that we should walk in. Everything a saint does should be guided by the LORD's direction, not the world's reality.

Here's the solution:

Understand that God is the only way. His directions are the only way and there is no exception to the rule. NO EXCEPTION. We cannot keep walking around here thinking we can make scripture fit for us. This is not the way people should live. NEVER.

So here's another problem: Your life is not even all that perfect. Your career is failing, your businesses are failing, your children give you a stroke on a daily basis and never mind that your finances look like a total mess.

Here's a solution: Smile and let them get over it. You have to do what God calls you to do and nothing short of that and no exceptions to the rule (yes, that again). The scripture is plain and clear about what you are to do. Your vision is blurred by the people in your life that don't have a clue that the grass is just as green on their side as it is on yours.

YOUR SOLUTION IS AT THE NEXT EXIT!!!

It is time to get off this congested freeway of life and take a slow drive in God's direction. He'll meet you at the fork in the road and tell you exactly what to do you. Get your spiritual GPS going otherwise get ready for an early final distination.

What Works....

I have been told that I say and do a lot. I do so much that people just don't pay attention to what I do because it IS SO MUCH.

I really want to tell you: THATS A COP OUT.

I mean if you really want to support someone in what they do, even if not all they do, you will do it. Who cares if they run 8 part time businesses and are good at them all. Do you feel better saying it's too much to keep up with so I don't support any of it? Or, if you put yourself aside, can you say there is one thing in this rat race my friend calls business that I find useful for me?

My point is (not going back to being a victim) is that what works for you may not be what works for someone else. What God wants YOU to do may not be what God wants someone else to do. NO, God isn't saying run a rat race;don't be judge or jury for God.

The part about life that some people forget is that YOU are not the dreamer in someone else's bed. You are the dreamer AND visionary in your own. God gave you a certain vision that takes place in your life; what works for YOU. With that the ministry that you have in YOUR business will help others and give God all the glory. There is something called obedience that takes you further and helps you make it. OBEDIENCE...not time..not frustration (shouldn't be any frustration in obedience)

I support a lot of people, as long as it doesn't take me away from my spiritual self. I want that same support in return, but if it doesn't happen, it doesn't change me. Live the life; do the business/ministry; be obedient and give God the glory....

What works for you won't work for others, but the prayers, results and obedience are going to the same GOD!

Ok, now that I have your attention; Moms, we have to stop talking down to our kids. We have to stop making them feel like they are nothing, will have nothing, and will be nothing. We have to stop feeding them the negative. Not only mentally and spiritually, but also physically.

We are making our children live with illnesses because of what we are feeding them. Depression, diabetes, stress, etc, all comes from what we let come out of our mouths. We have to first of all, SHUT UP.

Okay, the next step is find out what we did wrong and change it. Our mouth will get us in all types of trouble. When I was a teen, I would pride myself in saying my mouth can get me IN and OUT of trouble. I thought it was a good thing; nope it wasn't.

Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.

We have to know that we must encourage our children and teach them. One thing I know I have to do is encourage myself in order to encourage my children. It gets really hard to do that when you feel like the world is your living hell. As Christian I have to look up over the world into the heavenlies and see my Father helping me.

[ Living Sacrifices to God ] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present yourbodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

We must also teach our children about their temples. Their bodies are a living sacrifice which means we've been messing up with all the MESS that goes in our bodies (their bodies too) and the exercise we don't do. We have to teach them.

I am sharing this with you for two reasons. Who wants their child to die before their time? Raise your hands if you don't care? Well we all CARE. I don't want my child dying from sugar diabetes, or anything that is not right. Do I want to die from doing the wrong things to my temple? No, I have to start somewhere.

I started a low-carb diet about two weeks ago. It's been a slow go but it's well worth it. I also became an Independent Beach Body Coach. The Point is to Leave Something Behind

For the past few months, I have been looking at my businesses in a clearer light; not different but clearer. I have been making sure, people that see me see that I am working hard to leave a legacy for my family. There was something that gnawed at my mind about the word legacy.

Legacy: anything handed down from the past, as from an ancestor or predecessor. (from dictionary.com)

A legacy is very important to leave behind, yet it must be something good; worthwhile.

Right? That's a given. Or is it?

It's so important to let your family and your children know that they are just as important to you in your death as they were in your life.

This is why being a serial entrepreneur is so essential to my life. Not because I like signing up for many things, but because I am looking at what I need to make it past J.O.B. (just over broke).
The point is, the family. Now this is funny, because most people that know me will say, I wasn't about family, which was not true. I am about the future that my children, and husband (if he is still living) will have when I'm gone.

I thought this morning, how, when God releases me from the 9-5, that I don't want my husband to do it alone. I don't want him to feel like he has to keep working for a pension, even now. I don't want him to feel like we will never live in the abundance God has for us.

The point is to leave something behind, but position and work what I have, while I am still here.

So glad to have an ear to hear.

Day 42 of the 77 Day Challenge

This has been a great challenge for myself. I must say that right off! It has been a long hall of challenges and trials for myself.

Long story challenge short, I am so tired. This is really hard work. Why? Well, me, being the serial entrepreneur that I am, I work really hard to do it all. ALL! Working at a 9-5, my family, my businesses, I do it all. So the only reason why I am doing this challenge is to work on ONE business at a time to make it work.

I have been focusing on my coaching business for the most part of this challenge. It has helped me to focus on what was best for my clients, not myself. I have scheduled many events to end this year, and get COACH DANA in the faces of others. I have written articles to help show me as an expert in my field. What has been my noticeable expertise in the past 35 days? Helping and encouraging others. That has been the high point and high life of my challenge! Realizing that my business is NOT about me is not something new, but something more exciting to look forward to everyday!

As a self-proclaimed business coach, I know that everything I do and learn is about increasing my wealth, but increasing the understanding with my clients and what THEY do next. As I look at day 42 of this challenge, I see that I am working hard not just for black Friday..but for 2011. I see past the problems we all have as business owners and help see the gold lining (silver is just not enough) that will help leave a legacy.

So where do I go from here. I keep doing what I am doing! Day 42 hasn't brought me more money, but it has brought me more insight on how to help bring in the money for myself and my clients. So...35 days to go...are you with me?

Playing Catch Up: Day 34 of the 77 Day Challenge

This has been a great ride getting through this challenge. A friend of mine encouraged me to focus on ONE business during this 77 day challenge, so that was Coach Dana. Going strong and getting things scheduled has been a busy process. So, I've been playing catch up with networks, businesss associates and more.

When I started this challenge, I had deactivated my account on Face Book. Now that I am trying to write more articles and brand myself, I have reactivated in order to get the word out about ME!!! Yes, so the challenge is even more challenging because you can get caught up in the wrong conversations on that network.

Needless to say, I am working diligently to keep focused. So here we are on day 34 of the 77 day challenge, half way there! HALFWAY!

What can I tell you about the past few days? Well, let us see here: I have invested a few pennies into GREAT Network Marketing businesses. What, did I say that horrible word(s) Network Marketing? Well, as a business owner you have to do it. So, this business is not something that offers you what you dont want, it offers what every small biz owner, direct sales consultant NEEDS. A virtual office, conference room, etc! I was so excited to get involved; I was about to spend $60 a month on a webinar room where I am now spending 8.97 (see my previous blog)...

I have been in direct sales for many years. I haven't dont a great job in making money becuase I couldn't have 2-3 parties in one week. Day 25 of the 77 Day Challenge

Okay the last five days have been a whirlwind! With traveling to Chicago Friday night for church service, a funeral on Saturday and home due for my ministry class today, these five days have been great. I have accomplished so much in little time.

First off, I finally got some financials done for my home. Basically, in order to grow I need to find a way to live and in order to live I have to have my finances in order. One thing that was slowing me down, was not being able to give my kids spending money. I found a way to give them allowance, start a savings plan, and help show them how to pay their tithes and offering. The best system that has helped me is FamZoo. I just joined last week and it is keeping me on track to take my entire family further in saving dollars to make sense. Try it out!

Secondly, I signed up for a webinar service that is only 8.97 per month (after the initial 29.99 payment and 8.97). Dana's 30 Day Challenge

Day 7 of the 77 day Challenge

Well ladies and gentlemen, I am totally exhausted today. I have taken this challenge to higher heights. My purpose, again, is to become wealthier, monetarily, by Black Friday (the 77th day of the challenge). My goal is to do something one or two things to grow one of two businesses. Now these businesses can be affiliate companies, or my own self made biz, but I have to do something.

The first 7 days have been a doosy! (WOW)

After writing articles, updating blogs and starting new profiles on NEW social networks, I realized that all my time spent of Face book for the summer months, did nothing for me IN MY MIND. What do I mean? I felt like I was saying a lot in 120 characters and no one heard me. Now, I am saying something in 350 words or less and I have more contact than ever! Does that mean Face book is bad for business? No, you just can't do IT ALL, and do it effectively.

So, here I am on the 7th day and I have tackled the paper work in my office (which is now my bedroom), that I haven't looked at in months. I have organized them all into file folders and categorized things that never needed a category before this challenge. I am moving NOW towards my handbag, which I know carries some great information that should be stored in a file, not in my purse.

What I have learned in this first 7 days is that I have to see this vision God has given me, and work it as HE directs. I can't go running around my house, my church or my city with my head cut off like some start up company who doesn't know any better. I have to do this RIGHT! I know enough about getting organized to get there and stay that way. Alba Henderson of i-virtual assist, has been a great asset to me in getting my business information on paper and filed neatly in binders or folders. (networking with others is essential)

I have also started to use my general email for things that require immediate attention but don't need to be 'categorized' as business. This works well for a lot of programs I am linked with, and then the growing number of profiles I am creating.

Some of my profiles have tasks attached them so I am working Vol II of the lock on the door. So excited about that as well! Working through these tasks calendars are essential to my growth and organization.

77 Day Challenge

I started a 77 day challenge on Thursday/Friday that will take me rigth into Black Friday. I started this challenge because I noticed I wasn't doing enough WORK for my business. I wasn't effectively using my time.

In this 77 day challenge, I am working towards building one or two businesses. However this works out, I'm doing more in this next 77 days then I have done all year.

Why NOW?

Well, I need money in my pockets. I am working a 9-5 and building businesses with nothing to show for it and still a house to take care of. In my entire entrepreneurial life, I have not made enough money to even pay a bill. So it is time to take the hobby out of business and make some real money.

Each day I have to do one or two things for business.

As I have started out, I have written more blogs, written/submitted two articles and updated one website. I am working on submitting more videos and utilizing my affliate programs to create residual income.

I am truly excited about the next 77 days (well actually now 73 days). I have a different outlook on life and what the next step has for me. Seven is a great spiritual number. Looking at this challenge helps me look at seriously leaving behind a legacy for my family. Even in the middle of all that is happening in my life, I am taking on this challenge with my head held HIGH!

HER STORY:

Throughout my life, I was always a relatively active person, butafter having two children, and approaching my late 30's, I really lost my motivation to workout and my metabolism went down the drain. I was nearly 50 pounds overweight, unhealthy and very unhappy. I had horrible insomnia and my doctor even recommended that I go on an anti-depressant. My daily activities really just included taking care of the house and my two young children. I had little motivation to do anything else.

My children were both under age 4 and I felt likeI could barely keep up with them. When I wanted to go to bed BEFORE them, I knew that something had to change. One day, I saw a commercial for P90X (an intense 90-day fitness program) and thought, I'd love to do that someday, but felt like it was far out of my reach to achieve something that looked so advanced.

I started my workout program with a small goal toride my exercise bike 10-20 minutes each day. Once that felt easy, Idecided to up my goal to 30-45 minutes. During one of my 45-minuterides, I saw a commercial for Turbo Jam. I thought it looked like funso I decided to give it a try. The combination of my bike rides and the Turbo Jam DVDs helped me to lose my first 25 pounds.

As a stay-at-home mom with two young children,putting ME first to fit in my workouts was a challenge. But, I asked myhusband to watch the kids as soon as he got home from work so that Icould make the time. Adjusting my diet was also a challenge with my "meat and potatoes" husband and kids who eat the usual kid food likehot dogs and mac-n-cheese. I began tracking my calories and tried mybest to eat as clean as possible.

One I felt up to it, I decided to tackle P90X aswell. It was probably the most intense 90-days of my life, but it wasso worth it to change my body and truly change my lifestyle for thebetter. After my weight loss, I am almost speechless to describe how good I feel. What are Essential Oils?

An essential oil is a liquid that is generally distilled (most frequently by steam or water) from the leaves, stems, flowers, bark, roots, or other elements of a plant. Essential oils, contrary to the use of the word "oil" are not really oily-feeling at all. Most essential oils are clear, but some oils such as patchouli, orange and lemongrass are amber or yellow in color.

Essential oils contain the true essence of the plant it was derived from. Essential oils are highly concentrated and a little goes a long way.

Essential oils are not the same as perfume or fragrance oils. Where essential oils are derived from the true plants, perfume oils are artificially created fragrances or contain artificial substances and do not offer the therapeutic benefits that essential oils offer. The chemical composition and aroma of essential oils can provide valuable psychological and physical therapeutic benefits. These benefits are usually achieved through methods including inhalation and application of the diluted oil to the skin.

What do you do when someone you know has to deal with persistent fears, anxieties, or even depression? Well the first thing you need to do is to get the person to seek the services of a professional who can lead them in the right direction and give them the help they need. In addition, here are some other techniques you can use to help the person cope.

Learn as much as you can in managing anxiety and depression. There are many books and information that will educate you on how to deal with fear and anxiety. Share this information with the person who is struggling. Education is the key in finding the answers you are looking for in managing your fears.

Be understanding and patient with the person struggling with their fears. Dealing with depression and anxiety can be difficult for the person so do not add more problems.

In every anxiety-related situation you experience, begin to learn what works, what doesn’t work, and what you need to improve on in managing your fears and anxieties. For instance, you have a lot of anxiety and you decide to take a walk to help you feel better. The next time you feel anxious you can remind yourself that you got through it the last time by taking a walk. This will give you the confidence to manage your anxiety the next time around.

Challenge your negative thinking with positive statements and realistic thinking. When encountering thoughts that make you fearful or anxious, challenge those thoughts by asking yourself questions that will maintain objectivity and common sense. For example, you are afraid that if you do not get that job promotion then you will be stuck at your job forever. This depresses you, however your thinking in this situation is unrealistic. The fact of the matter is that there all are kinds of jobs available.

Another thing to remember is that things change. For instance, you may feel overwhelmed today with your anxiety and feel that this is how you will feel the rest of the week or month. This isn’t correct. No one can predict the future with one hundred percent accuracy. Even if the thing that you feared does happen there are circumstances and factors that you can’t predict which can be used to your advantage. You never know when the help and answers you are looking for will come to you.

When your fears and anxieties have the best of you, seek help from a professional. The key is to be patient, take it slow, and not to give up. In time, you will be able to find those resources that will help you with your problems.

The Past

Today I'm talking about life as we knew it. I needed to come HERE to write this because I want it to reach the masses. There is purpose in all of our lives that is important we attain. Now, what you take from this is totally up to you, but you have to see, hear, meditate, and understand.

THE PAST

What does this mean to you? What does it meant to the people around you? Are you running from it? Have you decided that it is not yours to remember? Have you repented of all your wrongs and asked God to forgive you? Who were you and does that matter now?

I was taken to Proverbs this morning and the scripture bothered me. It bothered me in a way that was not pleasing to my understanding. You see, the words weren't clear so I studied each verse aquainted with it and then studied those verses. I looked in various bible versions to get a clear understanding and then put in my journal a question that you will see later.

The verse is Proverbs 9:18 But he does not know that the dead are there,
That her guests are in the depths of hell.

Doesnt' say much does it? So look at Proverbs 2:18, 7:27 and 5:5

After you do that look at what the message bible says about 9:18:

Madame Whore Calls Out, Too

13-18 Then there's this other woman, Madame Whore—
brazen, empty-headed, frivolous.She sits on the front porch
of her house on Main Street,And as people walk by minding
their own business, calls out,"Are you confused about life, don't know what's going on?
Steal off with me, I'll show you a good time! No one will ever know—I'll give you the time of your life." But they don't know about all the skeletons in her closet, that all her guests end up in hell.

Now this is deep!

Now, I'm wondering how many of us can understand where we are in this. This would mean, and it goes against some of my most recent messages, but this would mean that you have to look at your past and really see if there are any skeletons in your closet. You have to know if you are acting immorally in anything that you do or have done and your HAVE TO lay prostrate to get healing, to get over and to get it right!

Noah Webster's Dictionary(bible dictionary) says immoral is

(a.) Contrary to conscience or the divine law; wicked; unjust; dishonest; vicious; licentious; as, an immoral man; an immoral deed.

As I read this, I decided to look at what is divine law and found this definition that will help us ALL get to the point we need to be and thus getting over the past.

Divine law is any law (or rule) that in the opinion of believers, comes directly from the will of God (or a god). Like natural law (which may be seen as a manifestation of divine law) it is independent of the will of man, who cannot change it. However it may be revealed or not, so it may change in human perception in time through new revelation.

In Thomas Aquinas's Treatise on Law, Divine Law, as opposed to Natural Law, comes only from revelation or scripture, hence Biblical law, and is necessary for human salvation. In Aquinas, divine law must not be confused with eternal law.

This definition can go in many directions, but still, you have to know what you are doing wrong in order to get right. If you are going against the Divine Law..God's law then you are not in right standing.

So, if you have not opened the closet of your past to let the skeletons out and be buried in the cemetary of repentance and God's forgiveness, you need to do that NOW! The past IS the past, but in order to get over it you have to put it in your face and do what's right. Get rid of the guests of your past; get rid of what is dead and bury it in the proper place. Do not teach about getting over the past if you haven't yet. It is a wonder that I have seen this scripture today as I was having issues with my past previously. I couldn't understand, this day, if God was telling me that I was an immoral woman in the biblical dictionary sense. So I can be transparent and humble to say, YES, I have been immoral but I will not go on in that manner. I am looking in the closet of my past, and giving the dead a respectful burial place.

I can't help you until I help me first...so today is the day!

1. How did the book come about?-Well I started writing this book years ago. I knew I wanted to write a story about four females so I just ran with it as I got ideas for the storyline.

2. Explain your characters?-There are four females in this story. The main character is Ari Jennings. She's the link between the four females. She met them all at different point in her life. Ari is currently in college. She's battling putting herself through school and working. Her mother is an alcoholic. Ari is taken down a journey that tests her faith. Marissa is a married women working as an intern at dental office. She has a lot of skeletons in her closet that are eventually revealed. She will ultimately learn how to love and trust in God. Katora is a single mother but living with her sons father. All she wants is happiness and a good life for her son. She has doubts about her boyfriend but can't put her finger on what he's doing. Her Grandma J, the source of her spirituality, helps her see things in the right light. In the end, Katora will be tested and a big bomb will drop on her to reveal the truth about those around her. Heaven, the youngest and most young minded of the females is a spoiled rich girl. She is currently in college but still living with her parents. Heaven cares about no one but herself. Her mother has instilled morals in her that will constantly haunt her. Heaven gets involved with the wrong person which makes her grow up and make a touch decision.

3. What message do you want this book to send?-I want anyone who reads this book to be inspired. I'm sure this book will hit home for a lot of people. I want people my age to see that living and striving to be all God wants you to be even when your young has it's benefits. Trust in God no matter. He takes us all through things for a reason.

4. What are you currently working on?-I am currently writing a novel called Concealed Betrayal. I am working on my magazine From A Writer's POV and expanding it all over the internet.

I started From A Writer's POV ...when I published my first book, I was looking for a website, network, magazine that offered author spotlights, that offered advice and tips for writers and I couldn't find it. So I decided I wanted to start a magazine. I wanted to have a place where authors like me could get the information they needed. Not to mention all of the places I found cost. You had to pay for this and for that and I thought I'm sure there are other people out here who can't always spend money on their books or to advertise or to get their name out there. We have to start somewhere and everybody's prices were just too high. So I started connecting with other writers and authors and they were very interested in my idea to start an online magazine. We started out with just articles and eventually came to where we are now. It's a true blessing to be able to give back. I learned over the years that inspiring others is my true calling and I love doing it in anyway I can.

I got into this business because I want to give back to my fellow writers and business owners. We need a spot where we can feel at home and will get the recognition we deserve. I believe everyone needs a starting place. I hope to give that to my readers and subscribers.

A Special Christmas

Every Christmas has been a blessing for my husband and I. My daughter was born on Christmas; she will be 20 this year. My youngest son was home for Christmas after having surgery at 5 weeks old (Christmas 1997), now 12. I survived the first season of my six year-old playing football(2000), now 15!

I can't put my finger on one that hasn't been wonderful, or what it has done for me to have this blessing every year. I can say that the Christmas of 2006 was a great surprise for me, when, we were with my family on Christmas eve (as we always are) and we were opening up gifts with them. Well, my husband handed over a white gift box to me and in it was a key; a car key...he had purchased a new van for me...I still drive it today. I was soooooooo surprised! It wasn't the vehicle that was special..it was the fact that I was special enough TO him to present the gift that way. Wonderful! Praise God for the special times!

New Business Grant Uses The Power Of Collaboration To Change Lives

Business Grants are elusive to most entrepreneurs and especially hard to find in a recession. Investing In Women (www.iiwomen.com) wants to change that and is asking for everyone to get involved in awarding grants. After awarding their first grant a few weeks ago, the company is ready to award another one.

The current grant applicant is Gazelle Simmons, a virtual assistant and author. She started her business Admin Services in 1998 and is currently in need of a new computer. “The desktop computer I’m currently using was purchased in February 2005...It is an essential part of my business and I couldn’t work without it.” Gazelle wrote in her grant application. As a virtual assistant she works with business owners who need administrative support but not a full time employee. Her services include, but are not limited to presentations, data entry, mass-mailings and editing/proofreading.

Gazelle lives in Atlanta, GA with her two teenage daughters. She is active in her community and spends her free time volunteering. After 10 years as an executive administrator she became her own boss so she would have the time to care for her aging parents. “I could be available for my parents, children even friends and family while still doing work I loved. For the first time in years, I looked forward to working.” says Gazelle

With the new grant program, everyone gets a chance to be involved. Investing In Women will begin the grant with $25 and the remainder will be donated through the site by visitors and from paid advertisements. All grant donors will receive recognition on the site with their name or website link.

“This gives us more transparency in our grant process and allows others to do something positive for a small business owner.” says Leah Oviedo, founder of Investing In Women. “Our goal is to offer 100 micro-grants in the next 2 years. What is it worth?

I have looked at my life, spiritually, through the eyes of another and though WOW, is it worth it?

I can't say I know the answer. I can't say I don't know the answer.

You see, life is about challenges and changes. You cannot stay in the same way of life and expect to get to heaven. You cannot flip back and forth with whom you want to servie (God or the devil) and expect to live eternity in Heaven.

I ask myself if my spiritual journey and life long campaign to serve the Lord is worth losing some people in my life and I can heartily say YES! But, then I look at my journey as Wife and Mother and say, Lord, can I present this area of my life with the same question; I don't know.

I get tired of trying to satisfy everyone in my household and trying to butter over the problems in life knowing I can't succomb to the tempation. YET, the bible says do NOT cause a man to sin especially if he doesn't know. So, I ask you, what is worth? Trying times seem to come every morning and I don't think I want to give up my relationship with God to make it all work. So I ask you, what IS IT worth?

Is it worth the love? Is it worth the tears? Is it worth the headaches? Is it worth the developing patience? Is it worth the time?

Yes, saints, it is. It is worth everything. Why? Jesus died on the cross for us. God thought that we were worth enough to have His ONLY son die for us. He died for our sins. If Jesus can do that, how much less can it be for me to just sit tight and wait on the Lord to move in my household. It is worth alot.

Some people may call it hypocritical of me to help another when my house is not complete, but, when you are keeping your eyes on the Lord and claiming the victory in advance w/o complaining..I'm a blessed woman of God..and it is worth it all!

I have entered a contest about my dream vacation. This 'dream' is going to paradise island to rekindle the love of a husband and wife. I woke up when I realized that every WRONG thing I did as child, God would forgive me, and HE did. I finally realized that what others CHOOSE to do was a result of what THEY felt they needed to do, not by any thing I did to them.

I realized that how WE act and react to others is by response of the spirit within us. NO one can make us do anything we do NOT already want to do. Just the evil or the good held within dictates to us in our inner ear.

So what happens next? Well, first off, I want to tell all those connected to me in some way shape or form; if I offended you with my cut throat in your face reality of what GOD really wants, and you don't like it...stop. JUST STOP making me your excuse for the relationship we now have. No matter what you think and how many spiritual cosigners you need, I love you with the love of the Lord and according to God's bible, not the man made doctrine's that have been dictated to us all these years.

Secondly, those of you that have been connected with me through ministry, business, this blog or more, understand that your life on this earth is going to end. Be ready for it when you take a moment to look at your life and what you have done to others. How will God look at you? Have you repented of any wrongs? Not everything you have done is wrong so you have to look at it all. Be ready for your friends and colleagues to use you as an excuse for their actions.

I did this as a child, looking at all of me and I had trouble understanding God's work in my life. I did not SEE it or understand it until about 3 years ago when my body was totally clear of all liquor and things that hurt my temple(my body). I started to see how the smallest miracles are just as GRAND as the large ones I was waiting on. I looked at how I treated people in business, and in life; I looked at how I shared myself with my now husband and how it was MISUNDERSTOOD. I looked at how open my book of life was used against me and how, right now, I am still misunderstood and rejected.

Although I am misunderstood and rejected, I am not going to allow my "connections" to make me their excuse. I follow a command that is not part of the Ten Commandments and I share it with others so that they understand: Ezekiel 33:8
When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you shall surely die!’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand.

This is important. WHY? I know God's word...I do NOT apply what I like to my life and leave what I don't like. So, when I share what the word says and you don't like me for sharing it..too bad. WHY? My salvation is more important than how you feel about the word that is needed for you. Once you, saints, figure out that the life you have should show Christ's light and illuminate to all not just who you pick and choose and that YOUR salvation is just as important (actually more important) than the car you drive you will realize that all else means nothing. Don't fail...don't stop...and please don't keep using ME as your excuse. I am nothing but a breathe on this earth....

It has been a while since I first started writing poetry. I had originally started as a teenager, now I am back to putting my life on the line and sharing all of me in my poems. Poetry offers a venue for venting, loving and giving.

Most times people will not want to share in your life as you share, but it doesn't mean you do not need to. I have been called many things in the past few months; in the past few years, but I am staying focused on looking up and working on my writing.
I am not afraid of looking at people that have left me behind or who have said I try to control them and their situations. I have one man that has held my hand all this time and that is God.
So as an event planner, virtual travel assistant, writer and speaker, I am building all that I can through my writing! Taking a break from everything else, I am sitting back and waiting.

It is hard to start a new with the qualms and quarrals of yesterday or last week, still chasing you around the house. Some times it is difficult to remember your motivation, but you have to try.

Why?

It is essential to remember your wants, needs, and desires and why you have them.
I started a business to be at home with my children. It hasn't happened in 10 years, but I am still striving. What is your motivation? Why are you pushing along into the next day.

Have you realized that God has given you a new day to bring you to a point of "light bulb going off" in your head?

I know life's struggles are increasing right now, but you have to stay focused on your motivation.

Remember who got you to this point and who keeps you going!
