Promoting your business: Being Considerate

As a business owner, timing is everything. Especially with events. Small businesses seem to assume that other small business owners will be okay if you procrastinate on deadlines, registrations, etc.

NO, NOT, BLEEP wrong answer. You cannot procrastinate on deadlines etc.....
Event planners strive, very hard, to keep schedules flowing effectively. This is consideration for their clients and themselves. So, be considerate!

I have many clients that are having large events and they need vendors and sponsors. Most of these events need money to get started and most of them need money to keep going. Sponsors and vendors are the essential part of an effective, platinum event. They bring more customers by word of mouth, or e-blasts, because of their presence at the event. Most of the events I have planned are open to the public and beneficial for all.

Promoting in this form takes work, but can provide 100% turn around right away. Being a vendor allows you to be face to face with your customer in a carefree, unstressed environment.

Be conscious of deadlines! Be considerate about business. It says alot about your professional character!

They Can Not Help You

Let me share with you something that will hit home for all people that feel that they are in bondage to other people: They can't help you!!! Why? Every person of the world is out for self. They are looking out for them and them only. They will put down your very being to make themselves feel good! (how selfish is that??)

You will notice, on most social and business networks, 85% of them are promoting their businesses and what it can offer you. They are not trying to find ways to help you grow in the capacity of where you are NOW, they are trying to get YOU to help THEM grow in the capacity THEY are NOW! Look at all of your networks and start eliminating the ones that aren't helping you network effectively.

The other side of this is, the devil is out there to make sure you don't make it (unless he is your god and he's blessing you anyway). Whether it is in business or in life, the devil would rather see you give up and suffocate yourself in your own guilt.

In these last days you can see who is in a right place with the Lord and who isn't. Sometimes, you have to ask the Lord to open your eyes to what is happening so you can make sound decisions about your life...spiritually.

The people of the world are not looking out for your best interest, where people that are walking with the Lord know that is all they can help do; look out for you.
Can a selfish person walk in this scripture: 1 Thessalonians Chapter 2: 5
Never once did we try to win you with flattery, as you well know. And God is our witness that we were not pretending to be your friends just to get your money.
They can't..they don't even know what it means.

A person of the world can't help you because you know that the reward you receive may be given on the other side. The side of heaven..the salvation you chose. They can not help you make it to heaven. Your father in heaven "...let's you rest in green meadows; he leads you beside peaceful streams..." (psalm 23;2 emphasis mine)
Can people give you that?

My most common saying is to look up (at the Lord) and not out (at people) because they do not have a heaven or a hell to place you in. So get out of that bondage to people and trying to satisfy their needs, desires, and material wants because THEY CAN NOT HELP YOU.

Working Wednesday~~Do not pass it..if they don't want it

I'm referring to your children.

You may not be their hero and they do not want to go into business for themselves. Don't force it.

In this current age, children have to be able to use their own minds and be creative from their own hearts. Do not force a child to be your protege'; it won't happen.

With summer approaching, whether you have a teenager or college student, help them develop a creative edge and mind. What I mean is, ask them what they want; do not dictate to them the life you WISH YOU had.

Our children are our motivation. We can pray that they go further in life than we have or just pray they have a life. Parents make the mistake of thinking their children will go down the same road they did. They always assume that their child is an exact product of them. WRONG

Parents should recognize that they have raised them the best way they can and have nurtured them in the rights and the wrongs (hopefully biblically, too). If a young adult (18 and over) makes some wrong choices, parents can not re-raise them. It just won't happen.

So don't pass it on; your life, your history, your business, your problems, etc. Don't pass it on to the minds of your children. Negativity is death to the mind, heart and soul. Help them use their creativity to build something they want. Support them in the middle of their circumstances and in the middle of all of that...lovingly share LIFE.

Share life....if they don't want the life you have or even had, you can not force it!

Is your business is decreasing....

We are in a recession. Gas prices are rising and life seems to be at a stand still. Is your business decreasing in these times? What are you doing to keep a constant flow of clients, money, etc.

One thing I am working on as a business owner, is eliminating the negativity. There will be people in your business network or even social, that will beat you down and try to tell you that it just won't happen in this life time. Most business persons try to detour you from succeeding because they KNOW YOU WILL succeed. Is that shocking? It should not be. While you are sitting down afraid of what this recession will bring instead of creating a plan that will bring you out on top, the other person is seeing you wallow in your own guilt and they are building on that. Do not fall into the trap of the negative heart and mind, or they will get you in their clique and you both will start on the next person and the vicious circle goes on.

Another suggestion is to keep learning. There are constant industry changes each day. You have to be able to succeed at different levels so do not stop learning.
If your business seems to be suffering because of this recession keep going strong and stay focused on you.

Family Friday~~Summer is coming

The time is coming for the school year to end. What are you going to do with the kids? You can not let children sit around idlely. There minds will turn to oatmeal and they will get rebellious!

Our children usually attend the neighborhood Boys and Girl's club each summer. This is a good idea if you don't have any other answers. I was a latch key kid and staying at home got boring. Going outside looking at the same neighborhood gave me a migraine. I rode my bike to the library's neighborhoood book mobile every other week and worked during my high school years.

I believe kids need something to not only keep them entertained but also educated; looking at each other is not it!

I have also discovered, if you involve children, more, in the running of the house, not just the upkeep, they develop an interest to learn. For instance, teach the older children how to cook small dishes. This helps them to get breakfast or dinner prepared if you are ever running late. Ask them to help with the gardening, cutting the grass, laundry, or painting; get their input, not just their struggle.

Take the children to the library; at any age it is well worth it. Ask them to pick out a book or magazine that is of interest to them (within limits; no rap, no fulgarity, no sex).

Bike riding is great and not just for exercise! Ride through the park you have never been to or a neighborhood that is of interest. Allowing your children to visit diverse neighborhoods allows them to get to know others of the WORLD not just their race.

Bowling allows children to use their minds and their bodies to complete a goal. Giving them the opportunity to do two things at once and effectively doing that :)
Bowling is great exercise! Take the kids bowling once a week. Find a kid league that would be great. Something to put them first this summer.

These are just a few suggestions. You can check out my other blog http://4mykidsinc.blogspot.com for more suggestions for summertime fun and education.

Feed the spirit not the flesh

I have made many a change in my life in just seven days. It has been heart wrenching and hard to deal with. I have learned that I need to move self out of the way. Can't be selfish, can't be self sustaining, can't be ME. (that statement may sound selfish, but let me continue)...

There are times where the spirit will tell you to step away, and you better or get caught up in the mess that goes on in your mind. Stop feeding the flesh. Stop walking the realm of ME. (selfishness)

People that are still of the world will get it all confused. They think and speak before they pray and ask the Lord to give them wisdom. The reponse of the flesh (the controller) is mean, demeaning and not loving. No matter what the other person says.

The flesh is going to look for affirmation from the world in order to be right. Those walking in the flesh do not know that God is in full control.

So, feed the spirit! And what does that mean....getting in your word and show yourself approved. I have been lazy at this, but I will pick up the pace and get back on track! AMEN??
Taken from bible.com 2 Timothy 2:15-19 (NIV)
15Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. 16Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. 17Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18who have wandered away from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some. 19 Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his,"[a] and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."

Be sure to take the time to read Chapter 3, it refers to godlessness in the last days.
Jeremiah 17:5 This is what the LORD says: "Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD. (emphasis mine)

Feed the spirit, die to the flesh...do not walk the way the world walks.

Titus 3:1
Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good,
